Chest Opener Stretch
This stretch is a total overachiever. It not only releases tension and pain across your chest, neck and shoulders, it also improves your posture. But perhaps even more importantly, it opens you emotionally.
This stretch is great for anyone who spends a lot of time working on a computer and for breastfeeding mamas. I do it most nights before bed to counteract all the forward rounding that happens throughout the day. When I make time for this stretch, I sleep better.
The stretch puts your body in a physically vulnerable position, which gently encourages your mind to go there too. As you hold and breathe into the stretch, notice what happens to your emotional barriers. I always feel a softening over the course of a few minutes and walk away feeling calmer and reconnected to my core values. What do you feel?
