Relationships are always complicated. But in midlife, they often get even more layered—especially for women who are doing the deep inner work of growth and healing.

If you’ve found yourself looking at your partner and thinking, “We used to be so connected—what happened?”—you’re not imagining things. Emotional disconnection in long-term relationships is incredibly common in midlife. But that doesn’t mean all is lost.

In this episode I’m joined by licensed psychotherapist Jessie Curtner, who specializes in helping couples navigate the emotional complexity of long-term love.

Together, we dig into the big questions so many midlife women are asking, including:

✔️ What happens when I grow and evolve—but my partner doesn’t?

✔️ How can I reconnect when we feel like roommates?

✔️ What if I’ve emotionally checked out—can that be repaired?

✔️ How do I know when it’s time to try couples therapy?

✔️ Can we rebuild intimacy without sex?

✔️ What does a “healthy” midlife relationship actually look and feel like?

We also talk about:

  • The emotional labor women carry in relationships

  • How early childhood experiences shape the way we love

  • Why so many women stop sharing their true needs—and how to start again

  • One of the keys to a happy marriage in midlife

Whether you’re married, partnered, or just reflecting on your own emotional needs, this episode is packed with insight, validation, and practical tools to help you feel more connected—first to yourself, and then to your relationship.
